About Us

I began making soap out of necessity. When my daughter had childhood eczema, even mild commercial soaps left her skin irritated and painfully dry. I started learning about traditional soapmaking - how soap was made before synthetic detergent bars lined the supermarket shelves - and began making small batches at home, from scratch. The difference was immediate. Her skin settled, and before long our whole family was using my soap.

That curiosity grew and since 2012 I've been making and perfecting my soap recipes; simple, traditional bars made slowly with organic animal fats, milk, oats, honey and simple herbs. Learning about the traditional cold-process method of soapmaking helped me recognise the value in ingredients I could already see around me- lavender and calendula growing in my garden, local tallow, manuka honey, and fresh goat's milk. These were the kind of ingredients soap had always been made from, chosen because they worked.

Using local, organic ingredients continues to matter deeply to me - not just for skin health, but because it feels like how soap is meant to be made - locally. Every bar is made with care, using time-tested methods and ingredients close to home, creating a soap our family still uses every day and truly loves.
