…the soapmaker behind Rosehill Remedies. I began making soap back in 2012 when one of my daughters had severe eczema. After the Dr recommended going soap-free to prevent drying her skin out, I came to learn that real soap wasn’t the problem, it was the commercial detergent bars in the supermarket that were irritating. I started making small batches of old-fashioned cold-process soap at home, combining local tallow I rendered myself, with homegrown herbs from my garden, and the difference was immediate. Her skin settled and before long our whole family was using my soap, and loving it.
My soapmaking philosophy is simple - I believe in doing things the old-fashioned way, and using local organic ingredients is deeply important to me. Every soap is handpoured, handcut, and each bar is unique.
